In this series (CR), I paint objects drawn from my imagination or from memory, hoping to make them live, exist and vibrate.

The objects are always containers. Mysterious, impenetrable, humble, and treasured. They contain stories and memories, whispers and the keys to my future paintings. I’m painting fired earth, hammered brass, time weathered woods and glazes coloured by oxides working through the painting as a maker might...turning the object, forming, hammering, working on the curve, defining the rim, finishing, glazing, repairing, soldering with gold...
